Terms of Service

Last updated: February 26, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Canopy ("the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of Canopy, including users connected via TikTok accounts.

2. Description of Service

Canopy is a web-based platform that allows users to upload video content and schedule posts to their TikTok accounts via the official TikTok Content Posting API. Canopy is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok, ByteDance, or any of their subsidiaries.

3. TikTok Account & Authorization

To use Canopy, you must authorize the Service to access your TikTok account through TikTok's official OAuth 2.0 authentication. By authorizing Canopy, you grant us permission to:

  • Read your basic TikTok profile information (name, profile picture)
  • Upload video content to your TikTok account on your behalf
  • Publish or schedule posts to your TikTok profile as explicitly instructed by you

You may revoke this authorization at any time through your TikTok account settings. Revoking access will prevent Canopy from publishing future scheduled posts.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

  • Only upload content that you own or have the rights to publish
  • Not upload content that violates TikTok's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service
  • Not use Canopy to post spam, misleading content, hate speech, or illegal material
  • Not use Canopy to impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share your session with others
  • Be solely responsible for all content published through your account

5. Content Policy

Canopy does not review or moderate content before it is uploaded or published. However, we reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. All content uploaded via Canopy must comply with:

  • TikTok's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
  • Applicable local and international laws and regulations
  • Copyright and intellectual property laws

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload. By uploading content to Canopy, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the scheduling service. We will not use your content for any other purpose.

7. Service Availability

Canopy is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Scheduled posts may fail to publish due to TikTok API errors, expired tokens, network issues, or other technical problems. We are not liable for missed publication times or failed posts.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canopy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This includes but is not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or reputational harm.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Canopy at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us through the Canopy application.
